HIS CAPTURE IS EFFECTED BY SERGT. SHINE, FOLLOWING TELEPHONE CALL. IS EMPLOYED AT THE BLOCK I SHOPS - WIFE FAINTS AT THE NEWS. For the past month reports have been received at police headquarters from residents at the north end that young girls and women were being annoyed by a mysterious man. The last report was received at 6 o'clock Sunday night and came from a young woman, who stated that she had been chased on Stone st. by a man, shortly after she had alighted from a north bound street car. Night Sergeant JOSEPH SHINE was detailed on the case and boarded the next north bound car. At the corner of Elmwood and Stone streets he saw a man standing in the shadows and acting suspiciously. He was placed under arrest. With a quick movement SHINE threw open the man's over- coat and there was no question but what the much sought individual who had been annoying women was in custody. Man is Married At police headquarters the man gave his name as HARRY HYSLOP, and his residence as 1019 Gar- field st. HYSLOP is a married man. It is stated he endeavored to make excuses at headquarters for his condition but finally, it is alleged, weakened and stated he would make a statement to Chief of Police MARX this morning. When questioned in the chief's office today HYSLOP is said to have admitted that he had chased the young lady in question but would not confess to having annoyed other women. His description however is said to tally with the reports sent in by other citizens and there is no question in the minds of the police but what HYSLOP is the man who has been making a practice of annoying young girls an women in the northern part of the city. HYSLOP is employed at the Block I shops in the blacksmith department and his arrest and exposure of his alleged degenerate methods comes as a big surprise to his associates. MRS. HYSLOP when in- formed of her husband's arrest fainted away. She was not informed of the charge made against him until later. To Chief MARX, HYSLOP is said to have stated that he could not give any explanation of his strange conduct. Owing to the fact that the man did not make any actual assault on the woman whom he annoyed no serious charge can be made against him. The police, however, state that some way should be devised for taking care of such cases as it is dangerous to allow them at large. HYSLOP was arraigned before Judge CLAIRE R. BLACK this morning and pleaded guilty to a charge of being disorderly, that being the most serious offense that could be registered against the man. The court sentenced HYSLOP to 90 days in the Detroit house of correction. HYSLOP'S associates and relatives are shocked at the revelation in connection with his actions. ==========================================================================
