                FRANCES and EDNA BASSETT are two orphan
              girls of Algonac whose sad story appeals
              to the heart of sympathizing persons. Two
              months ago their mother and baby brother
              were drowned on the steamer Goodyear.
              Their father, FRANK BASSETT, left his occu-
              pation as steward on a lake vessel, broken
              hearted. He secured employment on the D. U.
              R. and Monday evening when taking his car
              out he touched a live wire and was killed
              by the shock. The children are with their
              grandmother, MRS. EMMA BASSETT.
