The only means of fighting the fire, a hand engine, was brought out and a bucket brigade was formed. The water works are incomplete and a special election was called for the 13th to vote on the question of furn- ishing more money to finish them. There was considerable opposition to it last summer but it now looks as if the pro- position would carry unanimously in order to afford Algonac a water supply when needed at a fire. ===========================================================================
