T. Andreas & Co., Chicago - 1883 [574] JAMES H. HASLETT, merchant tailor, is a native of Washington County, Penn., and was born November 1, 1835. His parents removed to Richland County, Ohio, in 1832, where he lived until eighteen years of age; then went to Columbus, remained there about two years and finished learning his trade; then came to Michigan and located at Port Huron. Arriving here October 10, 1845, he and Mr. A. J. DEWEY, of Columbus, Ohio, opened a shop here, and since then, for the past thirty-seven years, Mr. HASLETT has carried on the business of merchant tailor in this place, and for twenty-nine years has occupied his present location. He is the oldest business man, with one exception, in Port Huron, and has carried on the business of merchant tailoring longer than any one in the State. ===========================================================================
