T. Andreas & Co., Chicago - 1883 [570] JAMES H. FITZGERALD, proprietor dry dock and machine shop, is a native of Port Huron, and was born May 27, 1854. His parents were among the earliest settlers of this place; he grew up and attended school here, and has always lived in the first ward of the city. He learned his trade of engineer here, and, when eighteen years of age, passed his examination and received his certificate as engineer. He served as engineer on the lakes for five years, and in 1876 esta- blished his present business, and has carried it on since then.
