A. T. Andreas & Co., Chicago - 1883 [564] HENRY CLINE, engineer Custom House, is a native of New York, and was born at Whitehall, Washington County, in 1839. When thirteen years of age; went to Massachusetts, and in 1856 came to Port Huron, and was sailing on the lakes until the war broke out; then went in the United States Navy and served in the South Atlantic Squadron, under Admiral DUPONT and DAHLGREN. Was at the bombardment of Fort Sumter. After his return, went on the lakes for ten years. In 1877, was appointed to his present position. In 1864, he married miss ROXY ANN ADAMS, of Ogdensburg, N.Y.
