A. T. Andreas & Co., Chicago - 1883 [564] RICHARD CASLER, contracter and builder, is a native of Herkimer County, N.Y., and was born in 1824. His parents removed to Canada when he was very small, and he was brought up there and learned the trade of carpenter and joiner. He came to Port Huron in May, 1852, and commenced working at his trade and continued until 1864, when he went in business for himself, and since then for the past eighteen years has been engaged in contracting and building, and is one of the oldest in the business here. He held the office of Supervisor in 1845. Mr. CASLER married Miss NANCY HAGERMAN, a native of Canada; they have two children -- COURSAIR C. and La FAYETTE.
