A. T. Andreas & Co., Chicago - 1883 [557-558] CAPT. LEWIS BEDFORD, is a son of Capt. GEORGE W. and ELIZABETH HILLIER BEDFORD, and was born in Missouri, July 28, 1859. His parents came to Port Huron in 1860. He began sailing when only thirteen years of age, with his father, and has been in the marine service for the past ten years. Since July, 1880, he has been part owner and has command of the schooner D. Provost. On Decem- ber 1, 1882, he was appointed Deputy Collector of Customs. ===========================================================================
