A. T. Andreas & Co., Chicago - 1883 [557] CAPT. GEORGE BEDFORD, is a native of Jefferson County, N.Y., and was born May 12, 1838. He came with his parents to Port Huron in 1849, and began sailing during his boyhood, and has followed the lakes for the past thirty years, and for the past twenty years has sailed as captain. He sailed the scow Lizzie, the Spray, and was master of the propeller City of Port Huron, and built and sailed the Kittie, and now has command of the schooner Jessie. In 1858, Capt. BEDFORD married Miss ELIZABETH HILLIER, a native of Canada. They have three children - LEWIS, Captain on the Lakes; HORACE, in office Chicago & Grand Trunk Railroad; KITTIE, in school. ===========================================================================
