Upon reaching manhood he came to Canada in 1839, and lived there until 1852, when he came to this county; bought the land where he now lives, and settled upon it, and cleared it, and made his farm, which contains fifty acres, and has lived here thirty years. In 1841, he married Miss MARY JAMES, a native of England; they have four children - John, Jane, Edward and Lottie; they have lost four children. ===========================================================================
