MALUSKY DIED IN RUSSIA - OFFICIAL Plain Wooden Box Arrives at Fountain, Day Late; Taken to Home of Mother FOUNTAIN, Mich., Nov. 18. - A plain wooden box, draped with the American flag and covered with flow- ers, arrived at the Pere Marquette de- pot Tuesday noon. Private GEORGE DeVOE who accompanied the body bore tidings from the war department that the box contained the remains of Private JOSEPH F. MALUSKY. The of- ficial statement is that he died in Rus- sia but the date is unknown. His family had been told by other soldiers that MALUSKY had died of wounds re- ceived on Flanders field. The body was met at the train by his brother Peter and taken to the home of their mother, Mrs. TECKIA MALUSKY, three miles west of Fount- ain. The funeral service will be con- ducted from the Polish Catholic church at Freesoil.
