JOHN MacKENZIE After being sick only five days of pneumonia, MRS. JOHN MacKENZIE died Sunday evening at her home on north Charles street. The family moved last summer from Fourth ward where they had lived for many years, and had just become comfortably settled in their new home which was arranged according to MRS. MacKENZIE's wishes when death took her from her friends and family. HARRIET BRIDGES was born in England November 9, 1842. She came to Detroit when 14 years of age, attended school in Ypsilanti and while there met and married JOHN MacKENZIE in 1864. Mr. and Mrs. MacKENZIE moved to Ludington thirty-three years ago and have since lived here. Of a modest, retiring nature, MRS. MacKENZIE was little known in society but her delight was in her home were she was untiring in ministering to her family. She was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church and was much esteemed by the members of that society. She leaves a husband and six children. Her son DONALD who lives in Manchester, England will not be present for the funeral, but JOHN and ROBERT are on their way from Portland, Oregon. Her daughters, MRS. GERARD T. SMITH of Moline, Ill., MISS HARRIET MacKENZIE of Madison, Indiana and MISS FLORA MacKENZIE are here now.
