CHAS. LYSAGHT CALLED SUDDENLY BY DEATH WEDNESDAY. Captain Suffered Stroke of Paralysis Tuesday Which Resulted in His Sudden Death Last Evening. RETIRED 2 YEARS AGO; LIFE-SAVER 37 YEARS Remains Will Be Taken to St. Joseph Tomorrow Where Funeral Will Be Held. As a sudden shock to his many friends comes the death of CAPT. CHARLES LYSAGHT, which occurred late last evening at his home, 510 north Gaylord avenue. CAPT. LYSAGHT was seized with a stroke of paralysis late Tuesday and sank rapidly to his death which occurred at 11 o'clock last night. Born in St. Joseph, Mich., in 1856, CHARLES ANDREW LYSAGHT early in life entered the service of the government in the life saving branch. The last 11 years of his service he spent as captain of the coast guard station at Point Sauble. After 37 years of faithful service, CAPTAIN LYSAGHT was two years ago retired on full pay. At that time he moved to Ludington and had resided in this city ever since. He was 61 years old at the time of his death. During his residence at Point Sauble and later in the city CAPTAIN LYSAGHT made for himself a host of friends who now join with the sorrowing family in their bereavement. He was an active member of the Elks' lodge and also associated with the Maccabees. Besides his widow, six children are left to mourn his loss. They are JAMES of Cleveland, RICHARD of Manistique, MRS. CATHERINE SCOTT and MRS. AGNES PELLETIER of St. Joseph and Sisters MARY FIDES and MARY CARITAS, Sisters of Mercy, now located at Bay City. He is also survived by one sister, MRS. AGNES YORE of St. Joseph. Sisters MARY FIDES and MARY CARITAS arrived on the late train last night, reaching the house just 20 minutes before their father's death. The other two daughters arrived this noon.
