XV. OLD SERIES, NO. 25 VOL. II NEW SERIES, NO. 40 On Sunday last our community was shocked at the sudden announcement that MR. JOHN EASTMAN, of Sherman, was dead. It appeared that MR. EASTMAN had several bridge contracts in various parts of the county, and was at work on one of these in Branch township, where he was taken suddenly very ill and died before medical aid could reach him. He had complained of a pain in his side a day or two previous to his death, but paid no attention to it until it was too late to get any aid. His body was brought to Sweetland on the 10:20 p.m. train, and then conveyed to Sherman for interment. He leaves a wife and family of small children to mourn his sudden departure from this life. The above are the facts as near as we can ascer- tain at present. ===========================================================================
