W. ARMSTRONG DEAD. MR. J. W. ARMSTRONG died at his home on the corner of James and Dowland streets last night at 8:30 o'clock, after an ill- ness of about three weeks. Deceased was born in Erie county, N.Y., in 1817, and departs in his 79th year. In his earlier days he came to Flint and was one of its most energetic and success- ful business men during the years of his residence there. In 1873 he came to Lud- ington to reside and to end his days. Deceased served in the late war with the 10th Michigan infantry, and was a mem- ber of Pap Williams Post G. A. R. He has been a member of the Masonic fraternity for 50 years and was a member of Pere Mar- quette Lodge No. 299, F. & A. M., and also of Ludington Chapter No. 92, R. A. M. MRS. ARMSTRONG, the bereaved companion of his journey through life is in her 74th year and sorrows with her four children, Messrs. W. E. and JAMES A. ARMSTRONG and MRS. ROBT. BUCHANAN and MRS. PAGE. The sorrowing family has lost a most kind and considerate father. Tomorrow the members of Pere Marquette Lodge will assemble at Masonic Temple at 1:30 o'clock sharp and march to the resi- dence, where REV. JOHN WOOD, D. D., will conduct suitable services.
