If her citizens don't thrash the minister into a prayerful state of mind, or get into opposing rows on some liquor case, then for a change they become embroiled in some case of larceny. One day last week CHARLEY BRANT went into the store owned by MR. ALDRICH in quest of a suit of clothes. He was invited to try them on before purchasing. Having divested himself of his old toggery and donned the new he passed out with the remark that the firm owed him just about the amount to pay for the suit. His arrest was effected and last Monday he was brought into the presence of Squire METCALF and before six of his peers (?) convicted. Seeing an opportunity to run he made good his escape still wearing the new clothes. He is wanted. ==========================================================================
