It seems that an Indian named SUTTON, who is the "medicine man" of the tribe, was jealous of one named CRANE because he ranked higher than SUTTON did, and on several previous occassions had attempted to take his life. Last Saturday evening SUTTON and four or five others, after imbibing enough liquor to infuse them with a murderous spirit, repaired to the home of CRAIN and proceeding to carry out their fiendish plan with their war clubs. CRANE was badly mangled but saved his life by jumping through the window and getting a few rods from the house where he sank down from exhaustion and loss of blood. SUTTON and his company then proceeded to demolish the furniture and dwelling. The constable and twenty or twenty five citizens finally succeeded in quieting the disturbance and arresting the offending parties who were taken to the county jail on Sunday. ===========================================================================
