This county is situated west, on Lake Michigan. It is drained by Memoosic, Sable and Notipecago rivers. It is bounded north by Manistee county, east by Lake county, south by Oceana, and west by Lake Michigan. This county is but little settled and unorganized, visited only or mostly by lumbermen in quest of fine timber with which it is densely covered.
