R. Page & Co., Chicago; 1882 -64- J. S. STEARNS is one of the most successful lumbermen of Ludington, although his mill is located in Lake County. He is a native of New York State. In 1876 he came to Ludington from Conneaut, Ohio, and for a time was connected with the lumber interests of the WARD estate. In 1880 he built a mill in the heart of a pine section in Lake County, and is at the present time doing a prosperous business. Mr. STEARNS has built an elegant residence in the Fourth Ward during the past season. ===========================================================================
