      JOHN A. MITCHELL, United States assistant engineer, is a native of
   Ann Arbor, Mich.  He chose the occupation of civil engineering, and has
   followed it for about ten years.  He was harbor inspector, and since
   last Spring has been United States assistant engineer, and in charge of
   this shore from Pentwater north.
