From Vermont he went to Rochester, N.Y., where his wife died, June 3, 1848. In 1855, with his two young daughters, then at home, he came West and settled in the township of Free Soil, and was a resident of this county until his death, which occurred June 8, 1876, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. GEORGE TRIPP in Ludington.
