R. Page & Co., Chicago; 1882 -64- CHARLES H. CRAWFORD, of the firm of GEORGE GOODSELL & Co., proprietors of the Ludington Iron Works, is a native of Benning- ton, Vt. In 1858 he went to St. Louis, Mo., as master mechanic of the St. Louis and Iron Mountain Railroad. Afterward he was master mechanic of the railroad shops at Holly, Mich., and after the Flint and Pere Marquette Road was built was conductor of a passenger train for a while. In 1878 he came to Ludington to reside, and in February, 1881, became a partner with Mr. GOODSELL ------------------------------------------------------------------ -65- in the iron works. The firm does a very extensive business. Mr. CRAWFORD is a practical mechanic, and his long experience is of great service to the business in which his firm is engaged. ===========================================================================
