                         CRUSHED TO DEATH
                         
                  Employe in Muskegon Sugar Plant
                    Is Caught in Large Marchine
                    
               Sebewaing, Mich., Jan. 9 - FRED HAIST,
             employed in the local plant of the Michigan
             Sugar company, was caught in one of the
             large machines today and crushed to death
             between the pulleys.
               HAIST was washing sugar when the hose
             caught in a belt, became entangled in his
             legs and jerked him into the wheels. He
             was dragged through the pulleys and taken
             out dead. HAIST was 22 years old, unmarried
             and lived in Elkton.
