                   Bound L'Anse to Detroit with iron ore when wrecked
                 in a gale. Two went down with the vessel and seven
                 got away in the yawl. Came ashore at Kincardine. A
                 crewman, Louis Hamel, claimed the WEAVER had been
                 leaking badly.
                   The WEAVER had lain idle in the Erie Basin for a
                 long time before being sold to Capt. Brown, of Cleve-
                 land, in August, 1877. Towed to Union dry-dock for
                 repairs. Previously owned by Captain Frasier and sold
                 by his widow.
