Tonokin TONNAGE: 65 gt DIMENSIONS: 61.2 x 14.8 x 6.6 CASUALTIES: 2 (All) The SOUTH SHORE cleared Garden, MI. on November 19th with a load of potatoes for Milwaukee and was overwhelmed by a storm with high southwest winds. The exact location of the loss is uncertain but likely occurred on the 19th or 20th. She was not reported missing until several days after leaving Garden as it was thought she was sheltering behind one of the islands. Her pilot house drifted ashore near Frankfort and sacks of potatoes were found along the beach.
