Samuel (or Seivert) Holmes, Milwaukee TONNAGE: 734.38 gt DIMENSIONS: 195.2 x 37 x 11.4 CASUALTIES: 14 SURVIVORS: 0 Bound for Duluth with 1,380 tons of salt from the Anchor Salt Block at Ludington, MI., the ADELLA SHORES was last reported on April 29th as she passed Sault Ste. Marie and followed the new steamer, DANIEL J. MORRELL, out onto Whitefish Bay. The MORRELL cleared Whitefish Point at about 7 p.m. with a strong northeast gale blowing and getting stronger; the SHORES following about two miles behind her. Sometime after leaving Whitefish Bay the ADELLA SHORES met her end however her final resting place remains a mystery.
