Raised in 1890 by James Reid and repaired at Detroit Dry Dock Company. Began leaking while en route from Ashtabula, Ohio, to Welland, Ont., while in tow of tug HENRY E. GILLEN. Towline became fouled in the tug's propeller when attempting to come alongside the ARMOUR. The GILLEN dropped anchor, which failed to hold, and was blown ashore on Presque Isle. PHILIP D.
