Joseph Doville TONNAGE: 334 gt DIMENSIONS: 139 x 26 x 13.7 CASUALTIES: 1 July 12, 1880 - Run into and sunk by the GEORGE A. MARSH on Lake Huron, off Forestville, MI. Passengers from the CITY OF ST. CATHERINES were taken off by the MARSH and then trans- ferred to the propeller D. W. RUST. Raised and rebuilt as steam-barge OTEGO in 1882. Oct 17, 1895 Caught fire while lying at the dock of the Winona & St. Paul railroad. Was cut loose from the dock and drifted against the approach to the Mason street bridge, catching it afire. The bridge was saved but not the OTEGO. John Drew of Cleveland, second engineer, jumped overboard and was drowned. Her wreck was purchased by Capt. Jas. Moore, of Chicago, who made attempts to raise her in 1900. It was reported that she was full of holes and pumps made little progress.
