J. Webb & Co., et. al MASTER: Capt. Thomas Wilford TONNAGE: 891.02 gt, 710.95 nt DIMENSIONS: 178 x 32 x 14 CASUALTIES: 3 The OSBORN and her two consorts, THOMAS GAWN and GEORGE W. DAVIS, left Marquette on the morning of the 27th loaded with iron ore for Ashtabula, OH. At about half past nine, in a dense fog, the JOHN M. OSBORN was run down by the much larger Canadian steel steamer ALBERTA. The OSBORN was cut nearly in two and sank within a few minutes.
