                   The OGEMAW was bound from Toledo to Marine City to
                 go into winter quarters when fire was discovered near
                 the engine room. Within minutes the entire aft section
                 was ablaze. The crew took to the life boats after she
                 was beached.
                 
                   At the time of her loss the OGEMAW was one of the 
                 last wooden boats left on the Great Lakes.
