Mack et. al., Cleveland (1889-1894 Gilchrist Transportation Co (at loss) MASTER: TONNAGE: 777 gt LENGTH: 205.9 ft BEAM: 33.5 ft DEPTH: 14.2 ft CASUALTIES: 0 SURVIVORS: April 1874 - Damaged by fire at Milwaukee May 1874 - Lost both anchors in the Straits of Mackinaw. June 1874 - Collided with schooner J. J. Case in the Straits of Mackinaw. March 1875 - Reported leaking at Milwaukee after being laid up there over the winter with a cargo of wheat. 4 Oct 1881 - Heavily damaged while attempting to enter Cleveland during a heavy gale. Hit both east and west piers. May 1883 - Collision at Milwaukee. Run into by the propeller CONEMAUGH. 29 Sept 1895 - Driven ashore near mouth of Chocolay River, near Marquette, MI., while under tow of steamer KERSHAW. Crew was able to walk ashore. May 1896 - Stranded at Marquette, MI 13 Sept 1903 - Foundered on Lake Superior during a heavy northeast gale while downbound with iron ore, under tow of steamer VOLUNTEER.
