MASTER: ? TONNAGE: 1057 gt DIMENSIONS: 213 x 37 x 16 CASUALTIES: 1 (steward Harry Brown of Detroit) Downbound from Duluth in tow of the M. M. DRAKE, when the pair encountered a fierce storm. The MICHIGAN developed a serious leak. The DRAKE attempted to rescue her crew but collided with the MICHIGAN and became disabled. Both vessels were being beaten up by the storm and in a sinking condition when spotted by the freighters Northern Wave and Crescent City. Both crews were taken off and landed at Sault Ste. Marie.
