Marie, Mich., June 4. - A note picked up in a bottle by surfmen at the Vermillion lifesaving station told of the wreck of the steamer Henry B. Smith near Marquette in the storm of last No- vember. The Henry B. Smith and her crew of twenty were never heard from after they left Marquette, and only one body from the vessel, that of the chief engineer, ever was found. The note, signed "Oli- ver," read: "Sunday morning. To the Hawgood Steam- ship Co., Cleveland. Finder please forward. The Henry B. Smith broke in two opposite hatch 5 about 12 miles out of Marquette.
