Minsky TONNAGE: 668.86 gt, 635.45 nt DIMENSIONS: 147.5 x 24 x 14.2 CASUALTIES: 0 of 10 R. B. HAYES and F. L. DANFORTH cleared Chicago at 6 p.m. in tow of the steamer A. P. WRIGHT bound for Buffalo with corn. Within hours they encountered an easterly gale. It was near midnight when the trio were torn asunder by the roaring wind and waves. The Danforth was blown ashore. The crew of the R. B. HAYES were taken off by the steamer and returned to Chicago. This was the same storm that claimed twenty lives as is smashed the intake crib at Milwaukee. 8 June 1882 - In collision with the schooner LIZZIE LAW on Lake Huron while in tow of the tug JOHN MARTIN.
