DIMENSIONS: 124 x 25.5 x 11.5 CASUALTIES: 0 SURVIVORS: 6 This was George Rogers first attempt at shipbuilding. 28 Sept 1856 - Run into by the propeller ORONTES during a gale at Cleveland. Repaired. 13 Aprl 1858 - Sold at public auction for $5,250 to Capt. N. Brown of Buffalo. Rated B-1. Sept 1859 - Lost her anchor off Bar Point. 3 May 1860 - Downbound with corn ran aground at Algonac. By this time her tonnage had been reduced to 305.55. July 1863 - Aground at N. Manitou Island. by 1864 - Owned by James Doyle, of Milwaukee. Sept 1868 - Ashore at Long Point Cut. 1869 - Leaking in June at Chigaco, and storm damaged at Marquette in August. Aprl 1870 - Extensive repairs at Chicago. New side planking down to the gunwales, new centre-board, caulked and repainted. Sept 1871 - Collision with bark Jesse Hoyt at Bay View [Merchant Vessel list, 1871, shows her as a bark. Marine Disasters on the Western Lakes, 1871, shows schooner Grace Greenwood laid up for winter at Milwaukee.] Dec 1873 - Feared lost enroute from Cleveland to Milwaukee. Reported found frozen in Manitowoc Bay. 5 Oct 1876 - Bound from Escanaba to Michigan City, beached at St. Joseph while attempting to seek shelter during a gale. Total loss.
