Remains of what may possibly have been the GEORGE F. FOSTER were exposed by low lake levels one mile south of the lighthouse, her bow pointed north. An exploratory excavation conducted in April, 2004 discovered enough information to identify the wreckage, with a high degree of certainty, as being the GEORGE F.
