J. W. Nicholson TONNAGE: 915 gt - 762 nt (readmeasured 1102 gt - 948 nt 1885) DIMENSIONS: 201.0 x 34.42 x 14.5 CASUALTIES: 0 M. M. DRAKE was on a downbound passage fron Dulith with the schooner barge MICHIGAN in tow when the pair found themselves battling a roaring gale. The M. M. DRAKE collided with the MICHIGAN while taking her crew off after the MICHIGAN sprang a leak and began to sink. The impact caused severe damage to the DRAKE and distress flags were hoisted.
