Sirborn, Chicago (last owner) MASTER: - TONNAGE: 126 gt DIMENSIONS: 102 x 27.8 x 7.5 CASUALTIES: none Sunk in the north branch of the Chicago river in 1893 and became a hazard to navigation. Towed out into the lake on June 8, 1896 by the tug TOM BROWN and beached at the foot of Chicago avenue.where she became part of the land- fill needed for the Lincoln Park extension. When built in 1854 she was the lake's first center- board shallow-draft schooner. Some say she was the schooner which jumped over the Chicago breakwater in 1882.
