Chamberlain TONNAGE: 1120 gt DIMENSIONS: 235 x 36 x 16 CASUALTIES: 4 of 12 The BRUNSWICK, only a few months old, left Buffalo bound for Duluth loaded with 1,500 tons of hard coal for the Northwestern Fuel Company. In the early morning of November 12th, when about 12 miles off Dunkirk, she ran into the downbound schooner CARLINGFORD. The BRUNSWICK burst in her bows, broke in two, and sank about 8 miles off Dunkirk as she ran for the shore.
