James O'Leary MASTER: (same) TONNAGE: 94 gt LENGTH: 90 ft BEAM: 25 ft DEPTH: 7 ft CASUALTIES: 0 SURVIVORS: 5 Oct. 1854 - Aground and sunk in harbor at Dunkirk. Raised and repaired. Aug. 1855 - Collision with schooner E. C. Williams on Lake Erie. Nov. 1855 - Sunk near Buffalo harbor. Raised and repaired. Mar. 1862 - Received a new deck at Milwaukee Sep. 1871 - Leaking on arrival at Milwaukee. Sent to dry dock. Dec. 1871 - Lost deckload of lumber on Lake Michigan. Fall 1881 - Aground at Manitou Island. Repaired at Milwaukee. Left Muskegon with lumber bound for Chicago on August 27th, 1884. Ran into a summer squall and became water- logged. Crew was rescued by the schooner WALTER SMITH, Capt. Tho's Smith in command, after spending 4 days on a makeshift raft with no food.
