FLETCHER with lumber consigned to a factory at Sheboygan, Wisconsin. A late season storm swept over the lake and heavy seas were breaking over the bow of the BELLE and quickly turning to ice. At about 8:30 p.m. the FLETCHER changed course for Ludington. When about 8 miles off Big Point Sable the storm succeeded in rolling the BELLE over on her port side, snapping off both masts and parting the towline as she went.
