     25 Oct 1898 - Bound for Milwaukee with ties, was caught up in the
                   the same disastrous storm that claimed the L. R. Doty.
                   Became waterlogged and was driven on the breakwater
                   at Milwaukee.  Cargo partially recovered.  A life-boat
                   from the BARBARIAN washed up at Ludington, MI on Nov.
                   8th following.
