TONNAGE: 495 gt DIMENSIONS: 178 x 33 x 12 CASUALTIES: 1 SURVIVORS: not stated Launched as a bark and converted (after 1870) to a schooner. Rebuilt in 1883, repairs in 1887. After 1882 was converted to a barge. Frequently referred to as a schooner in later newspaper reports. May 1866 - In collision with schooner WINGS OF THE WIND near Chicago. The latter sunk. Also damaged by gale on Lake Michigan during the same month. July 1870 - in collision with schooner MARQUETTE in Straits of Mackinaw. Oct 1871 - Damaged by gale on Lake Michigan. Nov 1877 - Ashore at Russell's Island. Seized at Detroit for towing claims. Dec 1881 - Ashore at Cleveland with 850 tons of ore. Crew taken off by life-savers. Refloated & sold at Marshal's sale. Sept. 1883 - In tow of tug SPRAGUE when went ashore n. side of Kelley's Island. Major damage. Oct 1892 - Ashore at Cedar Creek, s. of Colchester, Lake Erie. Crew picked up by steamer RALEIGH. Got off & repaired. Nov 1893 - Stranded at Marblehead, OH.
