Was thought a shift in the cargo caused her to sink rapidly. Steamer TELEGRAPH found only a pair of oars and some articles of clothing. Wreck located in June, 2013. Tremendous damage indicates that the Atlas hit bottom violently. Possibly the oldest wreck discovered to date (2013).
