                Converted to barge in 1912

                Sent off-lake in 1916.  On her first trip on the Atlantic,
              while in tow of the propeller GETTYSBURG, encountered a
              northwest gale and foundered off Sable Island.  Crew was
              rescued by the SAGAMORE.  Initial reports stated that the
              GETTYSBURG and a second barge, the ARENAC, had also been lost
              but this was an error.
