MASTER: Capt. R. D. Simpson TONNAGE: 3,871 gt DIMENSIONS: 365 x 50 x 28 CASUALTIES: 0 SURVIVORS: 25 Steering geer was smashed during a gale and she was flung ashore on Keweenaw Point. Four of the crew took to the life boat and managed to make Calumet. Crew taken off by the Eagle Harbor Coast Guard, making two trips. On the second trip the surfboat became stuck in the ice while returning to Copper Harbor. All aboard were taken off by the Coast Guard cutter CRAWFORD from Two Harbors, Minnesota, which had been summoned earlier by Boatswain Anthony F. Glaza. The ALTADOC, her back broken, was left until cut up for scrap in 1942.
