Hutchinson & Martin Mullen, Cleveland, OH (Dec, 1900 - Loss) MASTER: TONNAGE: 2,037.66 gt LENGTH: 288.5 ft BEAM: 44.5 DEPTH: 19.08 CASUALTIES: 0 SURVIVORS: 8 July 3, 1897 - While at Buffalo a mistake was made in unloading that caused some trouble. So much of her grain was taken out forward that she settled down aft and was drawing seventeen feet by the time she was brought up to the Erie elevator. She stuck fast on the bottom before she came alongside and could not be moved. The bulkhead was taken out and the deck engine was turned into a steam shovel and the grain was moved forward until she floated. Nov 8, 1900 - Downbound from Duluth with cargo of wheat, parted the tow line to her steamer, the ORINOCO, during a heavy NNE snowstorm. Tugs refusing to go out, the Ship Canal life-saving crew traversed 47 miles, taking surfboat and beach apparatus to Eagle Harbor and boarded the ABYSSINIA. Next morning assisted in bending the mainsail to the foremast, the foresail having blown away, and making other minor repairs. Capt. Larry Coleman, master. October 18, 1917 - Parted tow line to her steamer, MARUBA, and stranded near Tecumseh Reef, Lake Erie.
