Blodgett, of the hooker "MAID OF THE MIST," claims that he was robbed of a watch and $800 - all the money he had in the world - while lying in his cabin last Saturday night. We are in- formed that the Capt. was very drunk at the time when the alleged robbery occurred, and that he offered $5 the next day to get into a saloon. We don't doubt that the Capt. was robbed, but hardly be- lieve it was accomplished in the manner stated. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Pentwater News Friday, August 30, 1872 The MESSENGER was delayed last Wednesday on account of heavy weather on the west shore, but made her usual trip nevertheless. This is the first time she has failed to make connections with the night express on the C. & M. L. S. R. R. since she began to run from Sheboygan to Pentwater. ==========================================================================
