The steambarge DAISY DAY arrived here yesterday and is taking on a load of lumber for Pardee, Cook & Co. This is the first cargo of the season. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Ludington Record Vol. XVI, Old Series, No. 32 Vol. 3, New Series, No. 47 Thursday, April 12, 1883 [extracts of marine news] Capt. Cabot has taken command of a fine steambarge in Musekgon. The F. & P. M. boats have been running on time for several days past. One leaves Ludington every night after the late train arrives and reaches Milwaukee in eight hours. The other arrives here in the morning in time to catch the 5:30 train going east. The boats are well patronized by passengers. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Ludington Record Vol. XVI, Old Series, No. 33 Vol. 3, New Series, No. 48 Thursday, April 19, 1883 [extracts of marine news] The steambarge MARSHALL BUTTERS is already on her fourth trip with lumber. Capt. Cabot has taken command of the steamer R. McDONALD, and will run between Muskegon and Chicago. Attention is called to the new advertisement of the Goodrich Transportation Co's boats. They have been hand- somely refitted this spring, and special attention has been given to secure comfort in the passengers. They will leave Allens dock every evening except Saturday at 8 o'clock. The Manistee Times of last week says that their daily line of steamboats between there and Milwaukee "touch at a way station called Ludington." They do, Bro. Hilton, during the summer months, when Manistee is accessible; but in addition to this, Ludington has the F. & P. M. boats, which make railroad connections morning and evening at both ends of the route. These boats continue in active service the year round - a thing impossible with Manistee. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Ludington Record Vol. XVI, Old Series, No. 34 Vol. 3, New Series, No. 49 Thursday, April 26, 1883 [extracts of marine news] The steambarge MARSHALL BUTTERS took a load of lumber and shingles this week, amounting to 417,M. The largest cargo ever put in the boat. Louis Waldo, Esq., while in Milwaukee last week purchased the schooner H. B. BURGER. The vessel is in good condition and will carry something over 300M. ==========================================================================
