                        VESSELS SOLD TO FOREIGNERS
                               Season 1908

        The following twenty-six vessels, comprising twelve steam vessels,
     nine sail vessels, two barges, one dredge and two gas yachts, were
     sold to Canadian owners during the year 1908, and their American docu-
     ments surrendered at the Custom Houses, where they had been enrolled
     under American ownership.  The combined gross tonnage of these vessels
     in 4,552 tons.  The largest 822 tons and the smallest 11 tons.  They
     are listed in detail below and former ownership or other particulars
     relative to each can be ascertained by reference to last year's
     directory.
